I’m going to be in Germany (Frankfurt area) late April and have the weekends free. Anyone know of anything interesting car-wise going on in the western Germany or Benelux general area on the weekends of 22-23 or 29-30 April?
I know there’s a classic race meet at Zandvoort one weekend, but there doesn’t seem to be much on at the other main circuits, and if there are C&C equivalents I can’t find them on the web.
Fat dirty beetle butt for your time.

Klassikstadt in Frankfurt looks to be worth a visit. Where exactly will you be?

Rent a Ring car and go drive...
There is a ADAC qualifying 24 hour race on one of the weekends as well.

All over the west of Germany. Hannover, Stuttgart, and various spots in between. “Frankfurt area” was a pretty loose statement. Klassikstadt looks like it might be worth a day trip though.

If you’re in Stuttgart the Porsche and Mercedes Benz museums are a must to visit. I don’t really know of any cnc style event though sadly.

That’s the correct answer

Pretty restricted opening hours for track time those weekends, or I’d have been there like a shot. My understanding is that evening sessions are a big gamble because one crash and you lose the whole session while they clean up.
The ADAC race is a good idea though - I’d seen “practice race” in the event schedule and written it off without looking into who was practicing for what :-( . Looks like they’re at Oschersleben the next weekend too, which is also do-able

I’ve seen the Porsche museum, and with luck I’ll be visiting the Mercedes factory during the week. They’re the default choice for the second weekend if nothing better comes up though.

Any chance to drive the Ring is a good chance, but yeah, those are valid concerns. Amazingly fun though.

29 and 30th of April is the AMK (Dutch classic car magazine) festival at the Zandvoort Race track . It’s their first festival although so no idea how that will turn out to be.
The Sunday before that Zandvoort could be an option as well, if you’re into BMWs: Bimmerworld !
